Our work / Case study
The Coexist Project
A brand-new home for the UK's first national citizen science programme on human–wildlife coexistence – built to recruit volunteers, share live data and launch the project to the world.
A national project starting from scratch
Led by Dr Blake Morton at the University of Hull, the Coexist Project brings people together to study how we share our towns and countryside with wildlife. As a brand-new programme, it needed a website that could do a lot of heavy lifting from day one.
Recruit volunteers nationwide
The project depends on citizen scientists right across Great Britain, so signing up had to be simple, welcoming and clear.
Make complex research easy to follow
Psychology, ecology and geospatial data – explained in plain English for volunteers, schools and the public.
Share the data and the findings
Live results, publications and technical reports all needed a proper home that's easy to explore.
Build credibility from day one
A brand-new programme backed by universities and national funders needed a site that looked the part for partners and press.
A welcoming home for serious science
We designed and built the whole site from the ground up – friendly enough to win over first-time volunteers, and robust enough to hold live data, research outputs and everything partners and funders need to see.
A clear volunteer journey
Dedicated volunteer information and a simple enquiry form take people from curious to signed up.
Coexist Dashboard
An interactive dashboard with maps and visualisations that brings the project's data to life.
Publications & downloads
Reports and outputs organised in one place, with downloadable technical documents.
Team & partners front and centre
The researchers, universities and funders behind the project, shown with pride to build trust.
Custom responsive navigation
Bespoke, code-built headers and menus that work beautifully on every screen size.
Found from launch day
SEO set up from the start, with Google Search Console, sitemaps and a Google Business Profile.
Discovery
Getting to know the research, the audiences and what the project needed to achieve.
Design
A fresh, nature-led look that feels trustworthy, friendly and scientific all at once.
Build
A WordPress & Divi site with custom code modules, forms, downloads and the dashboard.
Launch
SEO, Search Console, Google Business Profile and brand-new social media accounts.

Ongoing content, partner outreach and support to keep the momentum going.
